The 11 Plus, Year 5 Prep course is designed to help students develop the skills, speed and confidence needed for tackling examination papers under time constraints and is essential for gaining a place in any top grammar and independent schools.

Maths
In the 11 Plus, Maths course, we revise basic maths skills appropriate to Key Stage 2 and early Key Stage 3. We focus on more challenging topics which children find difficult such as fractions, decimals, ratios, percentages, money, time, measurements, shapes, work consumption, cubes and nets, volume, magic squares basic and advanced algebra.
In this course, we assume here the student attending this course is well versed in fundamentals in Maths and familiar with basic topics appropriate to Years 4 and 5.
English
In the 11 Plus, English course, we teach techniques to answer comprehension questions, multiple choice style and descriptive style comprehension, including long and short answers. We set regular words and spellings to be learnt and tested. We carry out timed assessments. We also cover spelling, punctuation and grammar (SPaG) to a very high level.
In this course, we assume the student attending this course is well versed with fundamentals in English and familiar with basic literacy techniques including reading, writing and SPaG appropriate to KS2 level.
