SATs

At the end of Year 6, which marks the end of Key Stage 2, all children are required to take a set of National Curriculum tests known as SATs (Standard Attainment Tests).

The tests taken in May of Year 6 at the end of Key Stage 2 are:

Our SATs tuition programme includes two weekly sessions, homework and ongoing support and advice. This course will support pupils with preparation for the SATs tests which occur in May. Our weekly group sessions will focus on maths, reading comprehension, spelling, punctuation and grammar relevant to the current Year 6 curriculum.

How Year 6 sessions works:

A maths topic is taught each week. Children will be given weekly maths homework based on the objectives taught in the lesson, along with any other topics that were taught in class.

The other SATs topics such as comprehension and SPaG (grammar, punctuation and spelling), are taught on a rotating basis.

Each session is teacher-led and paper-based because we feel the best learning happens with teacher-led modelling and discussion, followed by independent work.
