She tailors and makes booklets according to each child’s needs every week. Her own four children went through the same programme. Her son is at Reading Boys and three daughters are at Kendrick.
Every family who trusted this programme has seen what it does.
From a spare room to Meadway Precinct.
It began at her own kitchen table, teaching her eldest daughter from 2018, then her two younger daughters, who went on to sit their own 11+ exams in 2020 and 2021. When her son’s turn came, she learned something that would shape everything that followed: left to study alone, he lost interest quickly, but sitting among his friends, with a little friendly rivalry over who could score higher, he couldn’t wait to get started. Other parents noticed too, several of them teachers by profession, and their children joined. Then more. Until a house full of children outgrew the house itself, and in 2023, she opened Unit 2 in Meadway Precinct. She never set out to build a business. She set out to give the children of her own community the same honest teaching she gave her own, which is why, to this day, every booklet gets marked, every parent is asked to take part, and every word on this page is the plain truth, not a pitch.
Some centres make money.
We make a difference.
Our mission is to give every Reading child a fair chance at the best schools in England, and to help children catch up, get ahead, and walk into their exams feeling genuinely ready. Your child’s future is our reason, not our income.
Our Approach: Every Child Gets a Plan, Every Week Gets Assessed
Purpose-built booklets written specifically for Reading Boys, Kendrick, and general foundations.
A personal learning plan for every child from day one, tracked with weekly assessments.
Regular progress updates for parents, and a homework system that closes gaps before the next session.
Every session face to face, on paper, marked in pen. No screens.
Reading Boys and Kendrick are free schools. We believe the preparation should be too, or as close to it as we can manage while keeping standards high. Private tuition in Reading typically costs £15 to £30 an hour for far less. We occasionally offer scholarship places, with details in our FAQs.
